We aim to provide the best possible service at your event and this requires the use of professional quality sound and lighting equipment.  We have invested in professional grade equipment from leading manufactures such as Denon®, Pioneer®, Mackie®, American DJ®, American Audio®, Shure®, Technics®, DasLight®, Meteor®, QTX Light® and Laser-UK®. A professional image is important to us so in addition to top quality equipment we have invested significant time and effort to create attractive and subtle DJ Consoles.  Using LED lighting technology our consoles and stands can be set to any colour to help create the right ambiance for the event. Our equipment is all carefully maintained and regularly tested to ensure it remains reliable.  All electrical equipment is PAT tested (Portable Appliance Test) every 6 months to ensure we comply with current regulations. Our equipment is fully insured while in use and in transit.  It is essential to have good insurance cover both for the equipment and the performance within a venue.  We use ‘DJ Guard’ to provide our insurance as they have many years experience within this industry and an excellent reputation.  We are covered for up to £2,000,000 of Public Liability Insurance (PLI). Obviously we don’t expect any of our customers to have a technical knowledge and we carry all the cables, connectors and tools required to set up.  All we need from any potential venue is access to a suitably sized area for setting up and standard 13 amp UK plug sockets (generally no more than 1 or 2 sockets are required). For those of you that want to know a little more about the equipment we use, please have a look at the details below.
Speakers We use Mackie® speakers throughout for their proven reliability and high quality sound.  We use a combination of SRM450v1’s and v2’s together with SRM150’s for monitors. Mackie® speakers offer the advantage of being self-powered so in the unlikely event of one failing the others will continue to work as normal.  This also means we don’t have to transport bulky and heavy amplifiers around keeping our set- ups compact and neat. For larger venues or outdoor events such as Marquees we may bring in extra speakers and sub-woofers as required.
Music Playback  We use American Audio® and Pioneer® professional grade equipment for music playback as these units provide us the quality and reliability our customers expect. The main units we use are the MEP-7000® and SDJ2®, both of which provide very high quality audio and fast searching of music libraries.  The MEP-7000® can play from Hard Drives (MP3’s), CD, DVD and even portable (USB) memory keys if required.  The SDJ2® is primarily used as a backup device and plays from SD Memory Cards and portable (USB) memory keys. We are in the process of transferring most of our music from Vinyl & CD to Hard Drives as it’s much easier for us to carry a huge library of tunes without the space and weight restrictions of transporting a large number of bulky CD cases or traditional vinyl records.  Currently our DJ’s have between 12,000 and 15,000 tracks available via Hard Drive.
Audio Processing & Mixing  The Mixer is very important and allows us to mix and balance all the audio and microphone sources before sending to the Speakers. We use Denon® professional grade Mixers for this task as their units give us the quality and reliability we need. The model we currently use is the DN-X500® which provides excellent  features and reliability.
Microphones Good quality Microphones are very important to any event, there is nothing worse than an announcement or speech that is muffled or difficult to hear.  It’s for that reason we use Microphones from Shure® who are probably the industry benchmark for this sort of equipment. Whether it is a wired Microphone, SM58® or wireless Microphone, PG58® the products from Shure® give us clear vocals and high reliability.  We use a combination of wired and wireless depending on the event.

Lighting & Effects Equipment
Moonflower Effects We use both the Revo III® and Revo 4® from American DJ® to provide Moonflower style effects.  These types of effects create a good general ambiance on dance floor, walls and ceilings.  Both units contains a variety of colours and effects. Using LED technology these units allow us to do our bit for the environment.  They consume very little power and don’t require frequent lamp changes like traditional bulb based lighting.  The lifespan of the LED’s in these units is in excess of 100,000 hours giving us confidence in their reliability. All our lighting is all controlled via DMX using the DasLight® software and hardware based solution (see below).  This allows central control of all lighting units from a single computer console allowing complex patterns and shows to be produced matching the mood of the event.
Moving Head Effects We use X-Move LED’s® from American DJ® to provide Moving Head effects.  This type of effect creates a good selection of moving patterns of varying colours that can move around the entire room. Using LED technology these units allow us to do our bit for the environment as they consume very little power and don’t require frequent lamp changes like traditional bulb based lighting.  The lifespan of the LED’s in these units is in excess of 50,000 hours giving us confidence in their reliability. Like all our lighting effects these units are all controlled via DMX using the DasLight®  software and hardware based solution (see below).  This allows us to change colours, patterns and positions at the touch of a button on a computer controlled lighting console.  Very useful for spotlight effects such as lighting up a product, wedding cake or even highlighting someone giving a speech.
Moving Mirror Effects We use the TripleFlex® from American DJ® to provide Moving Mirror effects.  These types of effects create a good selection of moving patterns of varying colours that can move around the entire room.  This particular unit is good centrepiece for disco’s and parties as it has three fast moving mirrors creating a high energy effect in multiple colours. Using LED technology these units allow us to do our bit for the environment as they consume very little power and don’t require frequent lamp changes like traditional bulb based lighting.
Laser Effects We use Lasers from QTX Light® and Laser-UK® for providing high-tech bright laser effects.  These units create both fast moving beam effects in red, yellow, white, blue, green and purple using the Spectrum® and DJ Colour II® units.  The LS01 creates prism style dot effects (similar to a high tech version of the old fashion mirror ball with thousands of small dots covering the entire venue).  This gives us the flexibility to create everything from the mood of an old fashioned ballroom to a high tech modern nightclub. Using Pumped Laser Diode technology these units allow us to do our bit from the environment as they consume very little power and don’t require frequent maintenance.  Both these units comply with all the necessary safety standards associated with the use of lasers in a public venue. Like all our other lighting effects these units are all controlled via DMX using the DasLight®  software and hardware based solution (see below).  This allows us to change colours, beams and positions at the touch of a button on a computer controlled lighting console allowing complex patterns and shows to be produced matching the mood of the event.
Fog, Mist & Haze Effects We have Fog and Haze machines from Meteor® which create everything from dense fog to light mist.  With units like the FoggaMatic FM201® we can greatly enhance the effects of a light show revealing the beams (especially for the Lasers) and creating a truly fantastic atmosphere. These are entirely optional and in many cases may depend on the policy of the venue and the type of smoke alarms they have installed.  The output from these units is totally harmless using water and non-carbon based fluids that is heated to make a mist or fog.  No appreciable residue is left behind and they bear no direct relation to real smoke.  If used sensibly these units will not trigger heat based smoke detectors or fire alarms.  We strongly advise you get permission from the venue before requesting the use of this type of equipment just to be safe. The FoggaMatic FM201® is remotely controlled so can be placed anywhere safe to enhance the mood of the evening.  The use of these effects are particular popular for themed events such as Halloween.

Lighting Control Software & Hardware All of our lighting units including Lasers have DMX-512 capability which is the industry standard for lighting control.  This is used on stage, in clubs, at concerts etc.  Essentially this means all your lights can be linked together and controlled from a single lighting console.  This allows lots of flexibility for creating light shows and adjusting moods, for example, we can make the DJ Console the same colour as venue decoration, light a wedding cake to match or spotlight an object - with DMX controlled lighting the possibilities are endless. For controlling our lights we use the DVC3® Software from DasLight® together with the DasLight® ECO-512® Hardware interface.  The DVC3® software is very flexible allowing us to create light shows prior to an event and change shows on the fly during an event where needed. To run the lighting software we use Netbooks from the MSI® range of computers.  These Netbooks are high quality, compact and reliable.

Power & Audio Connections Having high quality equipment requires quality cables and connectors. We use Neutrik® connectors throughout for power and audio connections.  Neutrik® is a brand that is recognised around the world for their high quality and reliable range of connectors and are used extensively in the entertainment industry from clubs to concerts. For our audio and DMX connections we use Sommer® cable for quality and reliability.  It’s also very flexible and tends to lie flat so it’s easier to tape down and make safe when used in public areas. For power leads we use Arctic Flex®, this is a quality cable but unlike typical power cables it’s extra flexible.  As with the Sommer® cable, it lies flat very easily making it easy to route cables and tape down for safety in public areas. Most of our cables are custom made to our specifications and regularly PAT tested (Portable Appliance Test) to meet with current safety regulations.
